ART: What People Say
It is important to keep in mind that the words of these clients and therapists are representative not just of some but of many that Laney has treated with or trained in ART.

Art Interview: Dog Phobia Eradicated in 1 hour
In this video you are listening to the results of a one hour session in which a dog phobia was processed out using this new therapy. You are listening to the founder, Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT, interviewing a woman who had volunteered to be the subject of a live demonstration held the week before. She was so fearful of dogs that she would ask that they be locked away wherever she went. After a one hour session she no longer fears dogs and actually wondered why a dog she was in the room with was ignoring her. ART works consistently often in one hour to eradicate phobias, PTSD symptoms, helps with depression, anxiety, OCD, etc.
Grandparents of a teen who recovered from psychogenic seizures after a 35 minute session of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) discuss the outcome of the session.

The person who took this picture had a deathly fear of snakes until she had one session of ART. Several months later she snapped this photo with curiosity instead of fear.
ART is my new high that gets better all the time helping people in such great personal pain. I thank all of you for allowing me to be involved with this project going further and spreading it to so many more therapists who I talk with on a daily basis throughout the United States.
Teri Vincent
I just wanted to extend my thanks (again) for such an amazing experience. I spent my whole drive home thinking about the applications ART in my practice and how excited I am to begin sharing this with clients and other clinicians. I feel really ready to use ART and know that I have the confidence to do so because of my experience in training. You all were wonderful to work with. Thanks again and I am so looking forward to the advanced training!
Dawn H. Freeman, MSW, LISW-CP
As clinicians we seek to facilitate change. We identify strengths, pair them with challenges, and encourage our clients to invest in themselves. Change is a frightenining proposition frequently met with disabling defense mechanisms and resistance. It takes courage, strength, and conviction to let go, trust, and change. This is a giant step. Well, "You can't cross a chasm with two small steps."
ART is a safe and sound agent of change. It is a profound giant step in clinical practice. It is revolutionary intuitive, and inspirational. You can't argue with results.

ART is a transformative intervention that allows the client to see a problem in a way that is safe, gives them a choice in determining a solution and allows them to leave each session empowered. In the two years; that I have been using ART, the results have been astounding. Every clinician should know ART!
Terry Nowakowski, LCSW
ART is an exciting new option for people seeking psychotherapy. Alone or in combination with traditional counseling, ART is a powerful therapeutic tool. My client's are seeing fast, effective results that are long lasting. I recommend ART because it has broad application and can be used for anything from trauma to increasing confidence and self-esteem. If it can ease emotional pain and mental distress in a fast, safe, non-invasive way it's a no-brainer!

I am truly impressed with the movement I have seen my clients make after their first session. I have seen clients with anxiety start the session very tense and walk out relaxed and smiling, even after addressing painful memories. This is becoming my preferred approach for many issues.
Kathy Long, LMHC
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Client served in the military, developed PTSD after standing guard stateside over the bodies of her fallen comrades. She could not sleep without lights, could not watch television for fear there would be a dead body. Her life was unravelling.
”When I was doing funerals, I would stand over the bodies and hear the sound of the body settling in the coffin and smell the smells.” She left the ART session feeling ”high and happy-tired. I had no bad feelings, no anxiety and my chest didn’t get tight. I usually couldn’t talk about it. I would clam up and freak out, but it was amazing. I’m doing just fine. I have days that are up and down but I’m a strong person. I really am.”
Loss of Son
“I have been able to sleep the night. I noticed when I was alone and it was quiet my mind always went to the moments of my loss. Now I don’t focus on that time. I tend to drift to better memories that bring a smile. I still cry over my loss, but it does not bring nightmares at night.”
Grief and Business Venture
“I had problems dealing with my mom’s death and ART solved this problem. It took all my anxiety and sorrow away from me. I also am so focused and clear minded from this therapy that it helped me reach my goal of becoming an entrepreneur. The therapist directed me in finding my own answers in just one session. Now, I have a starting point to begin preparation for my business.”
Co-dependency/Abandonment
“I am not so co-dependent. I’m relating to others differently - more sure, confident. I have definitely reclaimed a part of myself that was lost. I always felt that I was not enough. I feel so much more complete.”
Co-dependency/Guilt
“I was extremely skeptical of ART but figured I had nothing to lose. After one session my feelings have changed dramatically. I am no longer sad, anxious or depressed about the situation that haunted me for months.”
Relationship/Cheating/Divorce
“Sleeping has become more normal and if I do wake up, I just think about the situation briefly and then I return to sleep. It only happened in the first few days of this treatment - now I’m not waking anymore.
Trauma - Spouse Harming Himself
“It (ART) helped me to stop dwelling on the past, and allowed me to move forward and live in the present.”
Phobia - 11 Year Old Affecting School Attendance
Mother wrote, “My daughter now clearly knows the difference between when she is really sick and when she is having anxiety. Also she no longer has separation issues. She is comfortable going places without Mom and Dad where before she was not.”
Child Phobia/Fear of Bedtime
Mother wrote, “My daughter no longer says it’s hard to fall asleep at night. Doesn’t seem to worry about it any more.”
Child OCD Ritual
Mother wrote. “E. was able to stop her night time ritual the first night after treatment and hasn’t needed to do it since.”
Incest/Marital Sexual Problem
“The ART treatment was wonderful. I used to have nightmares about what happened to me and now I have no thoughts. I feel real good and even my relationship with my husband has gotten better. I used to blame myself for what happened, but now I know it was not my fault and my dad was to blame. I am really glad I had this treatment and I would recommend this to family and friends.”
Driving Phobia
"I was truly amazed when I was driving and realized that I was not afraid anymore of large vehicles passing me.”
General Depression/Anxiety
“Confidence, self-assurance, and self worth were things I was missing in my life. After my first session (where ART eye movements were used), I was able to reclaim these things. What happened over the next 15 minutes was amazing! Just a minute or two into the process, a feeling of calm came over me, and I began to see the scenario I was replaying from a whole new perspective. It is the way Laney is able to individualize the ART process, which I found most beneficial. Because it fit me and I did not have to try to fit to it, the results are more extraordinary. ART guided me to find a way to re-interpret scenarios tailored to me and helped me find self-confidence, self-worth, happiness and a sense of calm and bliss. I am so grateful and impressed about how quickly this was all achieved in one session of ART eye movements.”
Excerpts from Hartford Courant Article - “A Therapy That Banishes the Horror”
Published September 10, 2008 – Susan Campbell, Reporter
On that bright September day, Peter M. Gioia was at a conference in the ground floor ballroom of the Marriott that in a few minutes would become ground zero. There was a fierce noise, the room shook, and everyone ran out into a horror movie laced with the smell of burning hair. The next day, Gioia was back at work. And then things devolved. A beautiful day or the sound of a jet overhead or even the smell of gasoline put Gioia back in that scary movie, feeling the fireball’s blast, smelling the hair.
Over the next six plus years, he tried traditional therapy, hypnosis, anything to stop the real tape but nothing worked. But Gioia wanted relief and after one session with Rosenzweig, the pain simply went away.
Closer to home, the University of South Florida (USF), College of Nursing has established the Research to Improve Emotional Health and Quality of Life Among Service Members with Disabilities Center, housed at the University in Tampa. Dr. Kevin E. Kip, Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Research Center will serve as Principal Investigator.
Initially, there will be 6 sub-studies carried out by the Center and completed with a 2- year period. These will entail collection of epidemiological and biological data and evaluation of treatment protocols designed to complement services to the VA Healthcare System, TRICARE, and U.S. service members and veterans. The studies will focus on service members and veterans with symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). Some sub-studies will include family members experiencing emotional difficulties that stem from psychological problems experienced by service members and veterans.
Funding for the 6 studies is currently pending. The source of funding is a Congressional earmark entitled “Supplemental services and research to improve the emotional health and quality of life of veterans with severe disabilities” as sponsored by Rep. Kathy Castor, in the amount of $2.4M to be awarded to the USF College of Nursing.
Particular emphasis will be on female veterans and novel emerging therapies. One such therapy is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which uses eye movements and cognitive based therapy to remove or replace memories of traumatic experiences, with the goal of achieving acute and sustained improvements in symptoms of PTSD, sleep, depression, anxiety, guilt, hopelessness and impaired quality of life.
